Khadi Global Vitamin C serum review, Worth it or not?

Khadi Global Professional Vitamin C Serum Review

Namaste there πŸ™,

Hope you’re doing great 😊,

Vitamin C is quite a popular vitamin, I feel. I heard a lot about this in the past and still in my day to day life when it comes to skin health. I've been using Vitamin C serum for a quite long time, and this time I tried an Indian brand called Khadi Global. Now it's almost a month of using this serum and I thought I should share my experience.

My Skin: Sensitive Combination Skin

In this Article,

Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) :

  • Well, you may know that Vitamin C plays an important role in our life, to boost the energy level, giving that brightening and glowing effect on your skin (if you don’t know then, now you know πŸ˜‰).
  • That’s not the only thing, it has benefits such as fighting free radicals like UV rays damage, which also causes spots, wrinkles, and skin sagging. It boosts collagen production, evens out the skin tone, and has anti-microbial benefits too.
  • There is much more reason why you should have vitamin C in your skincare routine other than your diet. But you also have to be extra careful while choosing vitamin C serum if you’re having sensitive skin because if the concentration is higher it might irritate your skin and more than that. If you want to go more in-depth with Vitamin C you can click here.

While choosing the Vitamin C serum range you might see a lot of brands out there but which one to get? Now day’s people more tend to go for a popular one or the one which claims to be all-natural (of course most of us don’t want to take the risk or play with our skin, not even me)☺.

That’s how I came across through Khadi Global brand. So, let me start with Khadi Global, and why you can go for this brand?

  • Well, Khadi Global is known for its ayurvedic, or I should say natural ingredients & properties. It is made in India, and quite popular here, so it caught my attention.
  • It is a cruelty-free and vegan brand. It uses plant-based chemicals and natural ingredients. It has no paraben, silicone, and alcohol.
  • In India, it is easily available on websites like Amazon, Flipkart, Khadi Global, and also offline like Khadi global stores.
  • Khadi global is not only limited to India they do ship globally. For more details about their shipping and such, checkout Khadi Global.

And here comes the serum,

Khadi Global Vitamin C Serum Ingredients:

Plant-Based Ferulic Acid, Vegan Glutathione, Hyaluronic Acid, Sea Buckthorn Extract, Carrot Seed Oil, Rosehip Oil, Argan Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe Vera), Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Botanical Hyaluronic Acid (Cassia Angustifolia Seed Polysaccharide), Witch Hazel (Hamamelis Virginiana), Vitamin E (d-alpha Tocopheryl Acetate), Vegetable Glycerol, Organic Gotu Kola, Wildcrafted Dandelion, Wildcrafted Geranium, Jojoba Oil, Lemonade Extract, Nagpur Orange Extract, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerol.

My Experience with Khadi Global Professional Vitamin C Serum:

Khadi Global Vitamin C Serum has a thin and smooth consistency, it is neither sticky nor too watery in texture. The serum has a light orange kind of color. One to two pump for me is good to go I don’t apply too much, this much is enough for my entire face, neck, and sometimes till shoulder. After taking 1-2 pumps on my palm I spread it on both of my palms and apply by patting it on my face and neck. I personally don’t prefer to apply it when my face is dry, so whenever I clean my face and my face is damp that’s the time when I go with the serum application. It gets absorbed quickly into my skin. It has a mild fragrance, although I don’t like fragrance in the product especially which goes deeper into your skin. Other than that,

It has really good ingredients which made me buy this serum such as :

  • Ferulic acid: good for decreasing fine lines, brown spots &  protect from free radical damage.
  • Vegan Hyaluronic & Botanical Hyaluronic acid: These are really good for hydrating your skin.
  • Vegan Glutathione Acid: It helps to lighten and brighten the skin.
  • Sea Buckthorn Extract: It promotes hydration, elasticity and may help to reduce swelling & redness on the skin.
  • 20 % of Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate(Vitamin C): Well it is not L-Ascorbic Acid(also known as pure vitamin C), but this SAP has more benefits as it is stable and easy to get absorbed into the skin compared to L-Ascorbic acid. It is less irritant and could be less effective to your skin but 20% concentration is much, so I don’t think it is less effective in any way.
  • It has a lot more anti-aging, soothing, and brightening ingredients like Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, Gotu Kola, Rosehip Oil, Argan Oil, Glycerin, Nagpur Orange extract, and the list goes on.

These all are amazing ingredients and I don’t think it’s easy to find a vitamin C serum with such a good ingredient list in India with this budget. But there are also few ingredients which I don’t really prefer in my skincare products and those are lemonade extract and witch hazel. Lemonade or lemon extract is known for its lightening, brightening effects on skin and also good for sunburn, I agree, but however, it can cause more damage than good. It can be really problematic if it is in high concentration, and the concentration of lemonade extract and Nagpur Orange extract in this serum is really low which is fine.

However, I don’t feel the same for Witch Hazel, I’ve seen after applying this serum it makes my skin dry (Witch hazel can make your skin dry and irritate). Witch hazel is something not right for my skin and doesn't suit me as I'm having sensitive skin concerns. Although it is not the same case for everyone.

Moving on its pros and cons.

Pros of Khadi Global Vitamin C Serum :

  1. The glass bottle packaging is good for sustainability and recycling.
  2. Get absorbed quickly.
  3. Good ingredients for brightening, anti-aging, soothing, hydrating, and skin nourishment.
  4. The Visible glowing effect after a few uses.
  5. It is a vegan, cruelty-free, and natural product.
  6. Availability.

Cons of Khadi Global Vitamin C Serum :

  1. Not travel friendly as it comes in a glass bottle.
  2. It has witch hazel and lemonade extract.
  3. It has a mild fragrance (which can be problematic for some people).
  4. For complete dark spot removal or to fade blemishes, minor scars it takes a long time to see expected results.
  5. Natural Ingredients don’t suit everyone.

Will, I recommend/repurchase?

No, I’ll not repurchase, I’ll try some other brands not because I hate it or something but I did not see any incredible results on my skin, and sometimes it makes my skin dry and irritant.

For sensitive skin No I won’t recommend it. Other skin types if you don’t mind with citrus extract, witch hazel, mild fragrance, or not allergic to any natural ingredient then yes you can go for it, but always follow up with a moisturizer.

Note:

  • Anyhow I saw in some reviews they also recommend it for using this serum after derma rolling/micro-needling. Even though it has a lot of good ingredients still you should always be careful and mindful about what can harm your skin. I’d not recommend it using after derma rolling or micro-needling. As it contains citrus extracts, witch hazel, and mild fragrance.  If you want to use Vitamin C serum after derma rolling or micro-needling I’d strongly suggest asking your dermatologist.
  • You should apply this serum in the night and follow up with a moisturizer as it has Vitamin C and Witch hazel, in it which can make your skin a little bit dry. If you want to apply in the morning/day make sure you apply moisturizer and SPF afterward.

That’s all folks πŸ˜„πŸ€—, That was my experience, how about you?πŸ€”
