mCaffeine Coffee Body Scrub Product Description (Brand Says) :

Give your skin the gift of mCaffeine Naked & Raw Coffee Body Scrub -  a scrub crafted from Pure Arabica Coffee and Cold Pressed Coconut Oil.  The scrub exfoliates dead skin cells and helps get rid of blackheads, tan, and impurities. It polishes the skin and deep cleanses your pores so that your skin is smooth, glowing, and breathes free.
The perfectly sized raw coffee particles are very effective yet gentle on your skin. Unlike other body scrubs, this body scrub doesn’t dry out the skin and helps retain the moisture to keep your skin hydrated and nourished.
It targets not only the most exposed areas of the body but also those hidden problem areas where the skin is easily darkened and becomes rough.

Suitable for: Normal to Oily skin

mCaffeine Coffee Body Scrub How to Use (Brand Says):

On the wet body, take enough quantity, apply the scrub to shoulders and spread it all over the upper body, re-apply on legs. Avoid any contact with eyes.
Gently scrub in circular motions for a few minutes, focusing more on knees, elbows, and neck.

mCaffeine Coffee Body Scrub Ingredients:

Coffee, Sorbitol, Glucose, Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut Oil), Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Caffeine.

My Experience with mCaffeine Naked & Raw Coffee Body Scrub:

The scrub comes in a powder form, it has coffee-brown color. No fragrance added in this scrub but still, you can smell the natural coffee fragrance, which I really love about it. I take a generous amount of scrub in a bowl with that wooden scoop. And mix it up with a few drops of water, not making it too watery (sorry about the picture 😐it got a little bit watery). It doesn't require too much water as it has Sorbitol & Glucose in it, so it becomes easy to get mixed with water.

Obviously, I use it while taking shower but I start with lukewarm water then I start applying it all over my body. While applying, I make sure to go with a circular motion like massaging to get rid of that bad bacteria and dead skin cells. I tend to focus more on areas like knees, elbows, feet, etc. When I'm done with the application again, I gently rub everywhere the applied scrub (just in case I forgot somewhere).

While washing it off I go with lukewarm water to cold and I find it very relaxing and refreshing 😍. I must say, I don't feel any dryness instead I feel really moisturized, even though I have dry skin all over my body except my face. And I have noticed that my skin become smooth and glowy, afterward.

You might know that my experience with mCaffeine coffee Face scrub was not that good and I find it really harsh on the skin. But I did not feel the same for this body scrub instead I felt mild and gentle compared to their Face Scrub, yeah it could be because of walnut granules included in a face scrub.

One more thing I think I should share, I don't really use it once in every week instead, I use it once in 15 days or sometimes once in a month (yeah, call me lazy πŸ˜…). With that note, I must tell you I most likely use it either when I'm not going anywhere and inside my home all day like on holiday or in the evening. So, I don't apply sunscreen I mean I don't need to then. You must apply sunscreen if you're exfoliating your skin and planning to go out.

Although it doesn't really help me with my ingrown hair and I don't really expect Coffee and coconut oil to work on that. For that, I prefer Chemical exfoliators which have AHA and BHA kind of chemicals in it. And usually, I use loofah which somehow gives mild exfoliation to my skin so, I don't use a scrub that often on my body.

Let's talk about its ingredients, it doesn't have a long ingredient list, just simple and basic but good:

  • Coffee: It works as an exfoliator and helps in stimulating blood flow, which results in reducing cellulite and stretch marks. Also, it makes the skin smoother and brighter looking.
  • Sorbitol: It is used in cosmetics as a sweetener, a thickener, and a humectant. It helps to prevent moisture loss from the skin.
  • Glucose: It works as a humectant, it has water-binding properties for the skin.
  • Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut Oil): It is rich in fatty acids, it's high saturated fat content moisturizes dehydrated skin. It is really beneficial for dry skin and it has some antifungal activity.
  • Caffeine: It has good skin penetration abilities, antioxidant properties which reduces the formations of free radicals.

Even it doesn't make my skin dry I always follow up with a good moisturizer. I can't really say that it helps to get rid of tan or lighten your skin permanently in any way. Although you might see that instant glow and brightness or temporary lightening effect on your skin.

Moving on its pros and cons.

Pros of mCaffeine Naked & Raw Coffee Body Scrub:

  1. It comes in glass packaging which is good for sustainability and recycling purposes.
  2. No fragrance and harsh or any harmful chemicals added.
  3. Doesn't dry out the skin.
  4. Gives that instant glow and makes skin smoother.
  5. Suitable for almost every skin type (still it is recommended to do a patch test)
  6. Availability

Cons of mCaffeine Naked & Raw Coffee Body Scrub:

  1. Not good for traveling purposes as it comes in a bulky glass jar.
  2. Only one size is available.
  3. Not really effective on ingrown hair and super tanned skin.
  4. No unique or incredible ingredient list.

Overall:

I'd definitely recommend this scrub and yes I'd repurchase it and will keep doing it until I find a better alternative in physical exfoliation. I don't have such serious ingrown hair problems and I go for chemical exfoliation once in a week, if I face such issues. You can even go for such moisturizers that have AHA or BHA qualities/ingredients for ingrown hair issues.

So overall, I really love this scrub, as I find it simple and effective. The things which really made me fall for this is its packaging for sustainability reason and the simple ingredient list but work wonders with no fragrance added.

I'm not sure about the oily skin type, even though the brand says for normal to oily, as it has coconut oil which can make your skin more oily and same for the acne-prone skin like people having back acne concern, as coconut oil is comedogenic. I can't really recommend people with such concerns.

Note:

- Always follow-up with a good moisturizer.

- Make sure you don't have cuts or razor burns or anything which can make your skin worse than good before exfoliating.

- Don't apply it on your face or any sensitive areas of your body (it is not meant for that).

- If you're already using this or any physical body scrub then don't go with chemical exfoliators such as AHA's, BHA's, and PHA's (too much good is not good).

- If you're planning to go out after using such scrub then make sure you're using enough sunscreen to protect your skin.

Always tightly close the lid of the scrub to avoid direct air.

- Do a patch test before using it.
